Oncologist visit 2/7/2024

We just got in from Orlando Health (Oncologist Dr. Herreda) who we met for the first time. Nothing new to report except he concers the open heart surgery will be first followed by the lung surgery in a month or two depending on Alice's recuperation from the by-pass. Next up is a date for the heart surgery which we'll get from her heart surgeon Dr. Walker. More to follow as we receive it. Feel free to call with questions: 860.460.7945

Blogger test for new subscribers...

I expect to have an update posted late Wednesday afer our visit with the Oncologist at Orlando Health. In the interim, consider this post a test if you've recently subscribed to the blog: So, this morning fairly early Alice gets a call from the oncology consult office. They need a copy of the P.E.T scan (report and disk) that Alice had prior to the biopsy at Parrish Med Ctr and they need it prior to our visit tomorrow. Off we went to Rockledge to the image lab and got a copy of each...20 miles of RT1 pain in the ass traffic but what the hell. In the interim Buddy is demanding attention (do you know you have to feed these starving hounds twice a day + 23 treats?). Then we notice Gwennie is about out of her thyroid meds, so Alice calls the vet for the refill and I truck to Rockledge for the scan and then to the Vet for the pills... Even though things are blowing up around you, the daily issues keep coming... Supper: Baby back ribs cooking in the insta-pot, baked potatoes with onion in the oven and spinach prepared and awaiting a start. Cheers! Bob

Update Alice

recap: We found out that Alice has Adenocarcinoma. She's going to see an Oncologist, a Dr. Herreda who's with the Orlando Health group that her cardiologist and surgeon belong to. That will be on 2/7 and hopefully her heart by-pass will then be scheduled followed by the lung operation.

Waiting is hard...

Alice had her lung biopsy on Monday and we've been waiting for the result. Always the hard part for sure :(. We got to the hospital at 0900 and didn't leave until about 2:30...but we had hoped we'd know something on Tuesday. January 26th: Adenocarcinoma identified. The problem is being worked.

Alice update: January 19, 2024

As we used to say in the Lions Club: "Moving Right Along". We're going to see Alice's internist/pulmonologist last morning, then over to the Parrish Medical Ctr for preliminary blood work as she's set for the lung biopsey at 10am on Monday Jan 22nd. With good results from that we can reschedule the open heart surgury ASAP.
