Not all camping excursions go smoothly.....

We left Preston on schedule on January 17th, heading for Norcross (Atlanta) Ga as a waypoint to our final destination of Titusville Fl. The plan was to stop at first highway rest area in Montville, check the hitch to make sure that was OK and top off the fuel. 50 feet in front of the pumps the rig just stopped. We had to have her towed back to Preston to Spearpoint garage, and from there she was towed to Northeast Diesel in Plainfield as Spearpoint didn't have the lift capacity to raise her and drop the fuel tank. It looks like the fuel pump (which is in the tank) STB. Art at Spearpoint is a true gentleman and as honest as the day is long, and he did the diagnosis of the rig the same day he was scheduled to go into the hospital in New Haven for some personal health issues and tests. Everyone should be fortunate to have a local mechanic of his caliber and character.
Northeast thinks they'll have the rig repaired by this Thursday January 21st, and if that is indeed the case we hope to have her repacked and be on the road by Friday or the weekend at the latest. We had enough flex time in the schedule where we can still visit the relatives in Atlanta on the way to our final destination, so we're hoping all is well that ends well...though we'll be quite a few $$ liter for the experience.
Stay tuned!
