Nice visit yesterday in Port Charlotte with Jo and Dean Paradise.....
We trepsed across the State yesterday to visit Joann and Dean Paradise who have digs in Port Charlotte on the West Coast. That's about a three hour drive from here (Titusville) but when you factor in the I-4 and I-75 traffic it stretches to about 3 and a half hours, which makes for a lot of driving. The good news is Murray and Donna came with us, so we had good company both ways. Once in Port Charlotte we went out with Jo and Dean for a nice lunch at a red-neck diner, then back to their place for more visiting. Dean is heading back home to CT tomorrow, and Jo will hang on here for a few more weeks. Their new home there is absolutely stunning!! As the saying goes, "They done good!!" :).

Off on River boat cruse today with the Manatee Hammock snowbird group....
Late morning today we're off to Sanford Fl where we're meeting up with members of the Manatee Hammock snowbird group, plus ten folks from our local Space Coast Sams camping Chapter, for a river-dinner cruise of the Saint John's River. We did this last year too and had a great time! Sanford is about an hour out from Titusville. This is a great area for retirement in that there is always something interesting to do...be it concerts, plays, great campgrounds etc. Nice to be busy!!

Leaving for Sherwood Forest in Kissimmee Fl in a few days...
Alice and I are heading out on Thursday Feb 6th for an extended weekend with our Space Coast Sams group (www.spacecoastsams.org)(photo above is from one of our group "cleanups" at the Florida National Refuge on Merritt Island). The advantages to belonging to a camping chapter are many, not the least is that we get out almost every month to different places to learn and see more about our new Florida. We'll be posting photo's from this campout on our return to Titusville.
