Christmas 2014

Christmas, 2014 - The Payette Family of Titusville, Florida.
Merry Christmas to our friends and relatives from Alice, Bob, David and Joanna!  Having family and good friends is the best blessing, and we are grateful for ours.
As you probably know Alice, Joanna and I moved to Titusville, Florida the summer of 2012 and David joined us last summer. He’s working here in Titusville as a Chef at Shilo’s Restaurant. We’ve been very active with our Good Sam camping group Space Coast Sams.  We keep the rig stored in Christmas Florida between outings, but we’re out and about with it a lot with this group. www.spacecoastsams.org . Bob is on the Board of the camping group as well as our HOA, as he enjoys doing it and keeping busy.
We feel very blessed in our new home, and love the lifestyle and climate here. Luckily our health has been good and the climate here is conducive to that.  The regional theaters (Titusville Playhouse, Emma’s Attic, Henegar Theater, Cocoa Playhouse, Melbourne Civic Theater etc) and Big Band concerts in Melbourne keep us busy on weekends when we’re not camping with the group.  I try to keep our Blog reasonably current, and you’re invited to take a look if you are inclined….at http://bobpayette.blogspot.com/.
Merry Christmas to you and yours, and if a visit to Florida’s East Coast is in your plans contact us so we can get together!  Our Town home is under an hour from Orlando International…..a straight shot down Interstate 528 with little traffic.  We also hope you have a healthy and wonderful 2015….so Happy New Year!
Bob and Alice Payette

Our Space Coast Sam camping group went to Kars Park on Merritt Island for our annual Christmas Party, installation of officers and December camp-out.  The links above provide good transportation, including a view of the Orion launch from our vantage point on the Banana River.

We're heading out to Camelot RV Park today with our Space Coast Sams camping Chapter, and we'll stay through the week.  After the Chapter campout we're bringing the rig directly to Jetty Park in Port Canaveral, which we'll use as our beach cottage for several days while relatives come visit from the West Coast.  David will use the rig while surfing for a few days, then Don and Barb have it for the remainder of their stay here on the East Coast.

It's wonderful that our camping season is just now starting.  Back in Connecticut, we'd have this month's and October for camping, then the long winter lay-up until April.  The only month we haven't camping this year is July as we were just too busy.  I'll post photo's from Camelot once we get back home to Titusville.

Alice and myself visited Saint Augustine Fl from August 20th thru August 24th, staying in the rig at Anastasia State Park.  What a nice mini-vacation!  There is a lot to see in Mr. Flagler's Saint Augustine. Click HERE to view a Google+ album from this trip.

Finally set up a wireless printer....

I finally set up a wireless printer for the house, an HP Envy 4500.  Will be nice to be able to print off the Chromebook in the kitchen, as well as the IOS devices.  The setup wasn't totally intuitive, but I seem to have it working off all devices. It's in "all in one" that uses the same print cartridges as my HP upstairs, so that works out good....

We just had a nice visit with Bill and Gloria Sabourin from our old Camping Chapter in CT....

Bill and Gloria Sabourin are in Florida for a six day visit, staying in Kissimmee, and they came by yesterday for a visit.  We ended up going to lunch with them, and the Woods and Breen's,  to Rusty's Restaurant in Port Canaveral.  Nice visit! :).

Off to Wilderness Resort CG in Silver Springs Fl with Space Coast Sams.....

http://www.wildernessrvparkestates.com/  We're off today for an extended weekend with our camping group, Space Coast Sams Chapter 10, to Silver Springs Fl.  We went there last year with the group and it's a very nice campground.  Weather today is supposed to be a bit "iffy" with some thunderstorms and showers but the rest of the weekend looks good.  I'll post snaps from this event here when we return to Titusville.

Nice visit yesterday in Port Charlotte with Jo and Dean Paradise.....

We trepsed across the State yesterday to visit Joann and Dean Paradise who have digs in Port Charlotte on the West Coast.  That's about a three hour drive from here (Titusville) but when you factor in the I-4 and I-75 traffic it stretches to about 3 and a half hours, which makes for a lot of driving.  The good news is Murray and Donna came with us, so we had good company both ways.  Once in Port Charlotte we went out with Jo and Dean for a nice lunch at a red-neck diner, then back to their place for more visiting.  Dean is heading back home to CT tomorrow, and Jo will hang on here for a few more weeks.  Their new home there is absolutely stunning!! As the saying goes, "They done good!!" :).

Off on River boat cruse today with the Manatee Hammock snowbird group....

Late morning today we're off to Sanford Fl where we're meeting up with members of the Manatee Hammock snowbird group, plus ten folks from our local Space Coast Sams camping Chapter, for a river-dinner cruise of the Saint John's River.  We did this last year too and had a great time!  Sanford is about an hour out from Titusville.  This is a great area for retirement in that there is always something interesting to do...be it concerts, plays, great campgrounds etc.  Nice to be busy!!

Leaving for Sherwood Forest in Kissimmee Fl in a few days...

Alice and I are heading out on Thursday Feb 6th for an extended weekend with our Space Coast Sams group (www.spacecoastsams.org)(photo above is from one of our group "cleanups" at the Florida National Refuge on Merritt Island).  The advantages to belonging to a camping chapter are many, not the least is that we get out almost every month to different places to learn and see more about our new Florida.  We'll be posting photo's from this campout on our return to Titusville.
